This bowl was from Egypt and was created during the Predynastic Period. This bowl standing on human feet, is similar in form to the Egyptian hieroglyph meaning "to bring." This bowl is made from Nile clay and has a slick, smooth surface. It also is a rich, dirt red color. This gives the bowl a natural look to it. It is slightly tipped forward to offer its contents. What I like about this unusual piece of pottery is that it's very unique and different because of the human feet displayed as support beneath the bowl. It's not your typical pottery bowl you see everyday. It has a sense of character and meaning behind its obvious surface features.
